Abstract

ABSTRACT


 Low quality care is a problem faced in nursing homes. This condition is caused by poor teamwork, resulting from institutions, organizational structures as well as gaps in education and communication among care providers. The concept of team collaboration is expected to be a solution. The purpose of the study was to get an overview of collaboration in nursing homes. Quantitative research in the form of descriptive surveys by distributing Collaborative Practice Assessment Tool (CPAT) questionnaires to multidisciplinary teams. The population is all multidisciplinary teams including nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologists, instructors, clergy, physiotherapists, including orphanage leaders (total 76 respondents).  Purposive sampling technique is used to determine the sample of a multidisciplinary team with criteria that have been tasked with caring for the elderly in the orphanage for at least 1 month.  The research results of the majority of multidisciplinary teams perceive multidisciplinary collaboration in good institutions; most are non-nurses by profession; over 30 years old; female; college education; Muslims; contract employment status; married status; and long working > 3 years. Profession and age are related to collaboration, while unrelated ones include gender, education, religion, employment status, marital status and length of work. Age was declared the most dominant variable after controlling for profession and gender.
