FENOMENA CATCALLING (PELECEHAN SEXUAL) PADA PEDAGANG DI PASAR RAYA PADANG
Abstract
The phenomenon of catcalling is so rampant that it is common to hear and see. Catcalling is usually
synonymous with sexual harassment carried out in the open or in crowded places. One of them also occurs in
crowded environments such as markets. The market, which is a meeting place for traders and buyers, creates an
interaction and communication directly. This interaction is intended to attract the attention of visitors who pass by
and stop at the shops of the traders. It is not uncommon for this interaction to result in catcalling. Such is the case in
Pasar Raya Padang. This study aims to see what exactly is the form of catcalling, the purpose and meaning of
catcalling using qualitative methods and Husserl's phenemoenology approach, namely seeing a phenomenon by
reducing data. the results of this study show that catcalling is not only a form of harassment but also as a form of
insinuation of traders to visitors. So that there needs to be attention to ethics and how to communicate correctly
