PREVENTION OF STUNTING THROUGH NUTRITION EDUCATION ON PREGNANT WOMEN

Abstract
Stunting is a condition where the child's height is shorter than the height of his age caused by chronic malnutrition since in the womb. Malnutrition is related to anemia and consumption patterns of pregnant women so that it has an impact on the growth and development of the fetus. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of nutrition education in increasing the knowledge of pregnant women about stunting prevention at Puskesmas Sidomulyo RI. The research method is a quasi-experiment with a one group pre-test post-test design. The sample is all pregnant women who take classes for pregnant women. The results showed an increase in knowledge after being given nutrition education to prevent stunting in pregnant women with the Paired Sample t-test, p value = 0.039. So it can be concluded that the provision of stunting prevention nutrition education increases the knowledge of pregnant women about stunting prevention during pregnancy. It is hoped that there will be an increase in the health status of pregnant women so that pregnant women do not experience anemia, normal birth weight babies and age-appropriate growth and development.
