Abstract

Children development has affect multi factors. Parenting style and stimulation has important role on child development, will affect in child development. The bad parenting style can destroy children development. Stimulation from the parents can help children to reach children development optimal. Research aims to know correlation of  parenting style and stimulation to children development in Samarinda city. This is the kind of research with a cross sectional quantitative research, population in this study all parents and students from 2 kindergarten in aged 4-6 years old 67 people. Purposive sampling was used. An instrument used namely the questionnaire and sheets DDST. Data analysis used  chi square. The results showed there is correlation  between parenting style and stimulation  to children development (p value < 0.05. Parenting style and stimulation is one of  factor can affect to children development in Samarinda  city.
