Abstract

Background ; Hypertension and diabetes mellitus are two degenerative chronic diseases that have a fairly high presentation among others.  The non-compliance of patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus to the treatment regimen will worsen the prognosis of the disease. Thus, research related to the effectiveness of social media-Based eHealth is very necessary to be done to be the basis for determining the diagnosis and implementation of more precise interventions, especially in the city of Makassar. Objective: The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of social media-based eHealth in improving the compliance of patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus for treatment and regimens in Makassar City. Methods:  this study applied a cross sectional approach. The population of this study is patients domiciled in the working area of Puskesmas Antang, Puskesmas Pampang and Puskesmas Tamalanrea Jaya Makassar City. The study sample will be determined using purposive sampling methods based on inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria set by researchers. Results: majority of respondents were women (67,3%), middle education level (55%), household (46.9%), married (79.6%), has hypertension (61.2%). While, the obedience among respondents for treatment and regiments was counted for 67.3%. Further study on family and social support to prove the evidence is needed.
